Down Hill Skiing

Like golfing, skiing in our area is supreme with an abundance of choices.

Fairmont Hot Springs has the luxury of having it's own ski hill! The
uncrowded slopes offer terrain for all of the family.  It is the perfect
spot for family fun.  You can soak in the Hot Springs on the way down from
your day of skiing as well!
Panorama Ski Area is about a 35-40 minute drive and is rising quickly in
the ranks of a world class ski area.  Heli-skiing is also offered from this
area.
Kimberly Ski Resort can be found one hours drive south of The Timbers.  The
towns Bavarian theme is carried throughout the ski resort.  The skiing is
exceptional at Kimberly!
Golden has a new ski resort.  By all reports the Kicking Horse Ski Resort
will give all the others in the area a run for their money.  It is located
about 2 hours to the north of the Timbers Resort.
Fernie Ski Resort is about a 2-hour drive south but is well worth it for a
days outing.  Their recent expansions and traditionally heavy snowfalls make
the trip worthwhile.
Also in the neighbourhood of a 2-hour drive or less are the 3 popular ski
hills in Banff National Park.  They are lake Louis, Sunshine Village and
Norquay ski resorts


Cross Country Skiing

There are many trails in the area.  They offer wonderful winter views of
the lakes, mountains and area.  Invermere has an active Nordic club that
enhances the trails in the valley.
